Hello there! I just had to write you and let you know, the Angelcare monitor saved my son's life! Our son was born 7 weeks early, and had major breathing issues. He spent 5 weeks in the NICU, then we brought him home. On the way home from the hospital, my husband and I felt so nervous about his breathing, we stopped at our local Toys R Us and bought an Angelcare monitor. He is now 3 months old, and the tick/tick/tick of the monitor has helped me have so many peaceful nights sleep. Just 2 weeks ago, we had our first real alarm. I quickly went to his bed, and he was definitely not breathing! I picked him up, and it was still 4-5 seconds before he took a huge, gasping breath. We took him to the Emergency room, and they couldn't find anything wrong.. but they said that having heard what happened, they too think that the monitor saved his little life. I cannot say enough good things about this monitor. And it will be the shower gift to every mom I know from now on. Thank you!!

The monitor is fantastic! My daughter holds her breath while she sleeps sometimes and sends us racing into her room but it still offers us peace of mind to know what she is up to - we have a video monitor to see her and our Angelcare Monitor to soothe our souls. However, please be aware that the Natura Classic I crib mattress is not compatible with the AngelCare baby monitor system. If you only have the 1 pad system you may not notice it much but if you have the deluxe 2 pad system, you will. It creates a mound in the mattress where the pads are underneath and makes the baby roll towards the bars. My daughter had her leg wedged due to this and I’m constantly moving her throughout the night. I requested to try the Classic II as a replacement but my request was denied by Natura and I don’t feel I should have to shell out another $400 to give it a try. Therefore I feel it is important to let parents know since Natura will not publish my comment on their website under Customer Reviews, which is completely unacceptable in my opinion! That said, the monitor is more important to me than the mattress so we will be replacing the mattress - just wanted to ensure others knew that it is not compatible to save you the hassle of a $400 purchase.
